Our Story
Dr. Carlo M. Taboada founded his research institute, Clinical Associates in Research Therapeutics of America (CARTA for short), in January of 2016. He has well over 20 years of research experience as he was previously Chief Operations Officer of a national gastrointestinal research company for 15 years where he oversaw the daily operations of over 15 research sites around the country. Our home office is located in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Carlo M. Taboada is active in clinical research primarily in the area of gastrointestinal illnesses, particularly, inflammatory bowel disease. He has spent the last 22 years of his career devoted to improving the quality of life of patients suffering from this chronic, debilitating disease, thru clinical research trials, which are readily available for physicians and their patients at his research institute.

CARTA RESEARCH is devoted solely to helping improve the lives of patients through the auspices of clinical research trials that are made available in partnership with clinicians who are looking for an alternative to treating diseases that have been refractory to conventional therapies. One of the great things about clinical research is that they are fully funded so it is of no cost whatsoever for patients, which means underinsured or non-insured patients need not worry as everything is paid for! This truly helps clinicians concentrate on their patients' disease states and help them get back on track through clinical research trials. This is what our mantra at CARTA embodies: "Lending a Hand in your Path to Recovery!"
